Students of Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights visited HLC

Students attending the Master’s Programme at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights visited the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) on February 12^th, 2020, as part of their study visit to Serbia.

Students spoke with the HLC representatives, Predrag Miletić and Višnja Šijačić, who presented the work of the organization on documenting human rights violations during the wars in the former Yugoslavia and engaging in criminal justice.

The students took an active part in the discussion, and expressed interest primarily for transitional justice mechanisms in Serbia, the attitude of state institutions towards victims of human rights violations, but also for the challenges that arise during the prosecution of war crimes before national courts in the region.
