Students’ Visit to the HLC

On February 21, 2019 students of the Master program of the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights visited the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC), as a part of their study visit to Serbia.

Students spoke with the HLC representatives, Višnja Šijačić and Predrag Miletić, who presented the work of the organization on documenting human rights violations during the wars in the former Yugoslavia and engaging in criminal justice.

Students were particularly interested in methods of researching and documenting human rights violations used by the HLC, and the discussion also included if the work of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia did affect war crimes trials before the national courts of the countries in the region.
