Second School for Transitional Justice Finished

The final seminar for students of the Regional School for Transitional Justice was held on February 1st and 2nd in the organization of the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC), Humanitarian Law Center (Kosovo), and the Lawyer Association from Sarajevo. The seminar was held in the HLC’s Library.

The students presented their final papers during the seminar, best ten of which shall be published in the Student Papers’ Almanac. In their papers, the students analyzed the topics related to the processes of dealing with the past and transitional justice. Among others, the analyses pertained t the practice of memorialization in Bosnia and Herzegovina, war crimes trials before ICTY and local courts, and the contents of history textbooks in Serbia.

Dino Mustafić, a theatre and film director from Sarajevo, awarded the diplomas to the second generation students of the Regional School for Transitional Justice on Sunday, February 2nd, 2014. On this occasion, Dino Mustafić shared with the students his experiences working in a theatre in Sarajevo under siege and bomb raids, but he also underlined the importance of dealing with the past in a professional and objective manner, through out-of-court mechanisms and trials for the crimes committed, but also through art.
