Criminal Complaint for Murder of Two Albanian Civilians in Mala Krusha on March 28th, 1999

#IzSudnice - Sajt - 4The Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) filed a criminal complaint against a person on March 14th, 2013 with the Republic of Serbia Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor because of a war crime against a civilian population committed in Mala Kruša/Krusha e Vogel (the Municipality of Prizren) on March 28th, 1999.

The complaint was filed against a member of the Ministry of the Interior because of the reasonable suspicion that he killed two male Albanian civilians on March 28th, 1999 in Mala Kruša/Krusha e Vogel, in the presence of a number of witnesses.

Yugoslav Army soldiers (549th Motorized Brigade) and members of the Ministry of the Interior (4th, 5th and 37th Special Police Units Detachments) carried out an operation in the period March 25th-28th, 1999, in the Municipalities of Orahovac/Rahovec and Prizren, in which 660 Albanian civilians were killed, 318 of whom are still registered as missing. The ICTY has rendered first instance judgments convicting the highest ranking military and police officials of the then Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Šainović et al. Case) for a number of mass killings committed by Serb forces in the Municipalities of Orahovac/Rahovec and Prizren during the period in question. No immediate perpetrators of these killings or their superiors have been brought to justice so far.
