Students from the American University in Paris visited HLC

A group of students from the American University in Paris visited the Humanitarian Law Center on Wednesday, March 14th, 2013. The students are on a study visit to Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, during which they will particularly focus on learning about the process of reconciliation and democratization.

Marijana Toma and Katarina Janković from the HLC presented the history and the work of the HLC to the students. The students were interested in hearing about public opinion concerning war crimes; and they discussed the cooperation between the non-governmental organizations and the Offices of the War Crimes Prosecutors in the region, as well as the future of the Archive in The Hague. They also discussed the RECOM process, the problem of denial of facts and the inadequate educational system in the societies of the former Yugoslavia.
