Presentation of the list of the killed, dead and missing in the municipality Deqan/Dečani

More than 170 family members of victims of the conflict in Kosovo in 1999 attended the presentation of data on the killed and missing in the municipality of Deqan/Dečani organized by the Humanitarian Law Center Kosovo (HLC Kosovo) on March 30^th 2010.  Supported by the Municipal Assembly of Deqan/Dečani, the presentation was held in the hall of the Municipal Assembly, and the audience was first addressed by Rasim Selmanaj, Mayor of Deqan/Dečani, who thanked HLC Kosovo for organizing the meeting with the families of those killed and missing and wished success in the future work.

After the presentation, families of the victims had the opportunity to verify the information about their loved ones contained in the database. In addition they gave HLC Kosovo 120 forms with additional information about the victims, as well as a large number of photographs and other documentation for the database, altogether 80 photographs.

Presentation in Deqan/Dečani was attended by a large number of minicipal officers and local media.

Presentation of the list of killed, dead and missing in Istok/Istog

The presentation of information about the killed, dead and missing Albanians in the municipality of Istog/Istok was held on January 21^st 2010 in the in the hall of the Municipal Assembly. About 80 victims’ family members attended the presentation. At the beginning of the presentation, Mr. Skender Hasangjekaj, president of municipal commission for missing persons addressed the participants and invited victims’ family members to provide their assistance in the process of recording the killed, dead and missing persons during the conflict in Kosovo.

During the verification of information, family members of the killed, dead and missing persons from the municipality of Istog/Istok provided HLC-Kosovo with 13 photographs and 33 documents, and they also have filled out 101 forms with exact personal data of their love ones.

Presentation of the list of the killed, dead and missing in Niš

On February 20th, HLC organized the presentation of the interim List of the killed and missing non-Albanians in Niš. Deputy Mayor of Niš, Nađa Marković, and the Association of the Family Members of the Kidnapped and Missing Persons from Kosovo Office Coordinator opened the presentation that was held in the Niš City Hall. Approximately 100 victims’ family members who live in the Niš region attended the presentation. After inspecting the information in the HLC database, families handed over 34 documents and 16 photos to HLC. Several media houses from Niš (TV Belami, TV 5, etc) reported on the presentation.

Presentation of the list of the killed, dead and missing in the municipality of Malishevё/Mališevo

On 16^th February 2010 HLC Kosovo presented the results of the record of killed and missing in the area of municipality of Malishevё/Mališevo. Supported by the Municipal Assembly of Malishevё/Mališevo, the presentation was held in the hall of the Municipal Assembly, and the audience was first addressed by Rexhep Mazreku, deputy of Mayor. He thanked HLC for working on enlightening the truth about all victims who were killed or went missing. On the presentation took part more than 100 family members of victims, municipal officers and local media.

After presentation all family members of victims checked data of their loved ones on HLC data base.  Staff HLC Kosovo collected 55 photographs of victims from their family members and 14 copies of different documentation. Family members of victims filled out 88 forms with exact personal data’s of the victims.

Presentation of the list of the killed, dead and missing in the municipality of Klinё/Klina

On February 9th 2010 HLC Kosovo presented the results of the record of killed and missing in the area of municipality od Klinё/Klina between January 1st 1998 and June 14th 1999. The presentation held in the restaurant ”Gallateo” was attended by more than 150 family members of victims as well by media Koha Ditore and local radio Alba. At the beginning of presentation deputy mayor, Mr. Zenun Zeqa, stated that municipality of Klina is happy to support this very important Kosovo Memory Book project.

At the end of the presentation, members of the families of the victims checked information about their loved ones in HLC Kosovo’s database. During testing it was found that the data in the files of the victims in most cases is complete and accurate. Family members gave HLC Kosovo staff 163 forms containing accurate information on their closest as well as 43 photographs.

Presentation of the list of the killed, dead and missing in the municipality of Ferizaj/Uroševac

On 23^th February 2010 HLC Kosovo presented the results of the record of killed and missing in the area of municipality of Ferizaj/Uroševac. Supported by the Municipal Assembly of Ferizaj/Uroševac, the presentation was held in the hall of the Municipal Assembly, and the audience was first addressed by Agim Aliu, the president of municipal Assembly, who stressed the importance of having one document with all valid data’s about victims. On the presentation took part more than 40 family members of victims and representatives of local media.

After the presentation, families of the victims had the opportunity to verify the information about their loved ones contained in the database. In addition they gave HLC Kosovo 21 forms with additional information about the victims, as well as a small number of photographs and other documentation for the database.

Presentation of the list of killed and missing non-albanians in Podgorica

The public presentation of the interim results of the List of killed, dead and missing non-Albanians in Podgorica was held on April 1^st, 2010. More than 70 victims’ family members and 10 media houses (Pink, BBC, Dan, Vijesti, etc) attended the presentation. The President of the Montenegro Government Commission on Missing Persons, Veselin Vukčević, opened the presentation. After the presentation, families inspected the accuracy and completeness of the information about their closest family members in the HLC database and gave eight documents and nine photos of victims to the HLC team.

Presentation of the list of the killed, dead and missing in the municipality Kaçanik/Kačanik

On 12^th April 2010 HLC Kosovo presented the results of the record of killed and missing in the area of the municipality of Kaçanik/Kačanik between January 1st 1998 and June 14th 1999. The presentation, held at the Kaçanik/Kačanik municipal assembly, was attended by the media and over 40 family members of the killed and missing. Families gave HLC Kosovo 26 photographs of the victims. Also, family members of victims filed out 27 forms with exact personal data’s of victims. President of municipal Assembly, Mr. Xhabir Zharku, addressed to the families saying that family members of victims should cooperate more with HLC and other organizations which are trying to collect all facts about killings during the war.

After presentation families had the opportunity to check data’s about their family members who were killed or went missing on HLC’s data base. After the presentation, families of the victims had the opportunity to verify the information about their loved ones contained in the database. In addition they gave HLC Kosovo 120 forms with additional information about the victims, as well as a large number of photographs and other documentation for the database, altogether 80 photographs.

Presentation of the record of killed and missing in Pristina/Pristhinë

On April 27th 2010 HLC Kosovo (HLC Kosovo) presented the interim results of the record of killed and missing Albanians in Pristina/Prishtina between January 1st 1998 and December 31st 2000. The presentation, held in the hall of the Municipality of Pristina/Pristhinë, was attended by over 130 family members of those killed, injured and missing in the Municipality of Pristina/Pristhinë.
