Criminal Complaint Filed Against Members of VJ and MUP Serbia Accused of War Crimes Against Albanian Civilians in the Villages of Zahać/Zahaq and Plavljan/Pavlan

#IzSudnice - Sajt  - 4On August 23, 2010 the Humanitarian Law Center filed with the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia a criminal complaint against an unidentified number of members of the former Yugoslav Army (VJ), members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia (MUP Serbia), and members of criminal groups operating under the control of VJ and MUP Serbia for their responsibility for for war crimes committed against Albanians in the villages of Plavljane/Pavlan, Zahać/Zahaq, and other surrounding villages and settlements in the Peć/Pejë municipality during 1998 and 1999.

#IzSudnice - Sajt - 4Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) filed a criminal complaint with the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia against an unspecified number of members of the former Army of the Republika Srpska (VRS), believed to be responsible for committing a criminal act of genocide against over 1800 Bosnian Muslims from Srebrenica in July 1995.

Presentation of the list of the killed, dead and missing in the municipality of Shtime/Štimlje

On 17th March 2010 HLC Kosovo presented the results of the record of killed and missing in the area of the municipality of Shtime/Štimlje between January 1st 1998 and June 14th 1999. The presentation, held at the Shtime/Štimlje municipal assembly, was attended by the media and over 60 family members of the killed and missing. Families gave HLC Kosovo 15 photographs of the victims. Also, family members of victims filed out 33 forms with exact personal data’s of victims. President of municipal Assembly, Mr. Kujtim Xhelili, addressed to the families and journalists stressing that HLC’s project Kosovo memory book is most important documentation about our past until now.

Presentation of the list of killed and missing detainees in Dubrava

On 29th May 2010 HLC Kosovo presented the results of the record of killed and missing in the Dubrava prison between May 16th and May 23th 1999. The presentation, held at the Prishtinё/Priština municipal assembly, was attended by the over 50 family members of the killed and missing and ex prisoners who have survived from Dubrava prison.

At the beginning of presentation ex prisoner Mr. Mustafa Kolgeci has addressed to the audience sharing his experience from the mass killing in Dubrava prison. After him the executive director of HLC, Mrs. Natasa Kandic, took the flour informing the audience that HLC has issued criminal charge ex director of Dubrava prison on the court.

Families of victims gave HLC Kosovo small number of photographs of the victims and other important documentation. Also, family members of victims filed out 21 forms with exact personal data’s of victims.

Presentation of the list of killed and missing non-albanians in Prokuplje

Approximately 40 family members of the killed, dead and missing Serbs attended the presentation in Prokuplje held on May 27th, 2010. Tomica Milutinović, Deputy Mayor of Prokuplje, opened the presentation held at the Prokuplje Municipal Assembly hall. After inspecting the information in the HLC database, victims’ family members handed over nine documents and five photos to the HLC team. There were no media agencies that reported on this presentation.

HLC files a criminal complaint against war-time officials of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia for war crimes committed against civilian population

#IzSudnice - Sajt  - 4On May 28, 2010 Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) filed a compensation lawsuit with the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia against 34 individuals on charges of their personal responsibility for the murder of 90 and the wounding of over 150 Albanian prisoners in the KPZ Dubrava penitentiary, near Istok in Kosovo (hereinafter referred to as: KPZ Dubrava).
