Youth Reconciliation Ambassadors Visit HLC

Students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, and Kosovo, who are on a study visit to Belgrade as part of the Youth Reconciliation Ambassadors program, visited the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) on Thursday, September 12th, 2013. During this visit, they had an opportunity to hear lectures on Transitional Justice, historical-political context of the conflicts on the territory of the former Yugoslavia, and prospects of post-conflict societies.

Katarina Janković from the HLC presented the history and projects of the HLC to the guests and she also spoke about the ICTY trials and RECOM Initiative. The students were particularly interested to hear how much the media are interested in the subject of Transitional Justice, how much citizens and politicians support the idea of RECOM, and what obstacles the RECOM Initiative is facing at the moment.
