Bedri Krasniqi Convicted to 27 Years in Prison for Murder of Kosovo Police Officers

A mixed trial chamber of the Kosovo Supreme Court, presided by international judge Gerrit-Marc Sprenger, confirmed on January 1st 2010 the first instance judgement rendered by the Peć/Pejë District Court and sentenced Bedri Krasniqi to 27 years of imprisonment for the murder of two and attempted murder of one member of the Kosovo Police Service.

Trbojevic verdict confirms murder of five prisoners

On December 4th 2009, the Serbian Supreme Court confirmed the verdict of the War Crimes Chamber of the Belgrade District Court, which had found the accused Boro Trbojevic guilty of war crimes against the civilian population and sentenced him to 10 years’ imprisonment. The Supreme Court dismissed as unfounded the appeal of the war crimes prosecutor and the defence of the accused Trbojevic. In its reasoning the Supreme Court stated that the first-instance verdict does not contain the essential violation of the provisions of criminal procedure or criminal law that the second instance court considers ex officio.

Miroslav Vučković acquitted of charges of war crimes due to unjustifiable length of proceedings

Ten years after the first indictment was raised and after three retrials, Miroslav Vučković, a Serb, has been acquitted of all charges of war crimes committed against the Albanian population in the village of Gušavac/Gušac in Kosovo.
