Ethnic Minorities in Kosovo in 2005

This report is based on more than 60 interviews with the members of minority ethnic communities in relation to the following issues: freedom of movement, return of displaced persons, access to public services, education, upbringing, and employment, use of mother tongue, and house reconstruction; as well as on interviews with victims of ethnically motivated incidents, and information available on individuals punished for the ethnic violence that erupted on 17 March 2004.

Solidarity Without Discrimination

The Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) is strongly supporting the state authorities’ involvement in repairing the consequences of the recent natural disasters and providing support for the endangered citizens in these areas. At the same time, the HLC would like these institutions, the Republic of Serbia Government in particular, to express the same level of solidarity with the Bosniak citizens of Serbia, who live at the territory of the Priboj Municipality. In late 1992 and early 1993 they were victims of persecution carried out by the then Yugoslav Army (VJ), and because of this, they are still forced to live away from their homes.

Republic of Serbia in Violation of International Conventions: In Regard of the Acquittal of Bishop Pahomije

In regard of the Niš Municipal Court’s acquittal of Bishop Pahomije, the Humanitarian Law Center would like to point to the violations of certain international conventions signed by Serbia and Montenegro, which occurred during this procedure.
