Former commander of the VRS Zvornik Brigade Vinko Pandurevic has been released from the UN Detention Unit, having served approximately three quarters of his sentence. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the crimes in Srebrenica
The Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) and the Centre for Advanced Legal Studies (CALS) will present the Model Law on the rights of civilian victims of human rights violations committed during and in connection with the armed conflicts in the period 1991-2001 (Model Law) on Friday, April 17th, 2015 at 10:30 in the Great Hall of the Media Centre in Belgrade (Terazije 3, I floor).
On 6 April 2015, the Trial Chamber of the War Crimes Department of the Higher Court in Belgrade (the Chamber) rendered a judgment finding Žarko Čubrilo not guilty of a war crime against civilians committed in the first half of July 1991 in Tenja (Republic of Croatia). The Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) points out that the decision of the Chamber is based on an erroneous interpretation of key pieces of evidence and a disregard of the most important sections of the statements by eye-witnesses.
