HLC – Kosovo presents data on the missing and killed in Malishevë/Mališevo

On February 16th 2010 the Humanitarian Law Center – Kosovo (HLC-Kosovo) presented data on the killed and missing victims in the area of the municipality of Malishevë/Mališevo in the period 1998 and 1999. The Presentation, which was held in the hall of the Malishevë/Malishevë Municipal Assembly, was attended by over 90 family members of the killed and missing.

Conference held on European integration and transitional justice

Conference “European integration and transitional justice: perspectives and strategies for the establishment of restorative justice in the Western Balkans” was held on Tuesday December 1st in Brussels, organized by the Center for the Study of Global Governance (London School of Economic) and the Humanitarian Law Center.

17 year commemoration of the abduction of Sjeverin Bosniaks

Seventeen years ago on October 22nd 1992 beside the Amphora café in Mioče (BiH), the war criminal and Hague indictee Milan Lukić together with other members of the Avengers stopped a bus carrying passengers, citizens of the Republic of Serbia, who were making the daily journey from Sjeverin to go to work in Priboj.

Remembering the victims in Lovas

HLC Executive Director, Nataša Kandić, the Director of Documenta, Vesna Teršelič, and the Coordinator of the Center for Peace, Non-violence and Human Rights from Osijek, Katarina Kruhonja, as well as activists from Women in Black participated on October 18th 2009 in a commemoration of the victims of war crimes committed by Serb forces 18 years ago in the village of Lovas in Croatia.

The Bishop Kevin Dowling from South Africa, who the day before had participated in a consultation with religious leaders in Zagreb and Osijek on the establishment of RECOM (a regional commission mandated to investigate and disclose the facts about war crimes and other serious violations of human rights committed in the former Yugoslavia) also attended the commemoration.

Deutsche Welle: Serbo-Croat argument over camps in Stajićevo and Begejci

Members of the association of families of injured veterans from Zrenjanin have reached day three of their hunger strike in protest at plans to place a memorial plaque on the site in Stajićevo and Begejci where detention camps for Croats once stood.
