Students from Kosovo Visit HLC

A group of law students from Kosovo visited the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) on Tuesday, September 24th, 2013. They came to Belgrade for the purpose of attending testimonies in the Ćuška/Qyshk trial before the Higher Court in Belgrade War Crimes Department.

SIT Students Visit HLC

Students of the School for International Training (SIT) visited the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) on Tuesday, September 24th, 2013. The students attend various universities in the US and they will stay in Serbia for 15 weeks during their SIT Peace and Conflict Studies.

A propos the article “I hope Syria will not suffer western intervention – I have lived it”, published in The Guardian

The online edition of the British daily “The Guardian” published an article authored by Jasmina Tešanović titled “I hope Syria will not suffer western intervention – I have lived it”, on September 16th, 2013. In her article, the author recalls the day-to-day life in Belgrade during the NATO bombing in 1999 from her personal point of view.

European Forum Alpbach Students Visit HLC

Students of the International Summer University organized by the Belgrade Alpbach Club, a member of the European Forum Alpbach, visited the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) on Monday, September 16th, 2013. As part of the study program, the University students, who come from all countries of the South East Europe,  study the organization and policy of the European Union.

International “Hrant Dink” Award Presented to Nataša Kandić

The “Hrant Dink” Award was presented on Sunday, September 15th in Istanbul to Nataša Kandić, the founder of the Humanitarian Law Center and the Regional Coordinator for RECOM. This award is presented to individuals, non-profit organizations or groups who work for a fairer world without discrimination, racism or violence – to those people who devote themselves to these ideals, fight stereotypes, and use the language of peace, and thus inspire and give hope to others.

Youth Reconciliation Ambassadors Visit HLC

Students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, and Kosovo, who are on a study visit to Belgrade as part of the Youth Reconciliation Ambassadors program, visited the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) on Thursday, September 12th, 2013. During this visit, they had an opportunity to hear lectures on Transitional Justice, historical-political context of the conflicts on the territory of the former Yugoslavia, and prospects of post-conflict societies.

Statement on Commemoration of the International Day of the Disappeared

The Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) commemorates the International Day of the Disappeared and calls upon the successor countries of the former Yugoslavia to reinforce their efforts in establishing the fates of all persons who disappeared during or in relation to the wars in the former Yugoslavia, and to improve the legal and social status of the families of victims of enforced disappearance.
