Šljivovica and Mitrovo Polje

From August 1995 to April 1996, members of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) detained several hundred Bosniak men from Žepa and the surrounding area in the Šljivovica and Mitrovo Polje camps after they crossed into Serbia seeking refuge following the fall of Žepa. Dozens of cases of torture and inhumane treatment by Serbian police were recorded, and five detainees died from injuries.
