On December 19, 1992, members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina entered Jošanica, a village in the Foča municipality predominantly inhabited by Serbs. They killed 56 civilians, including 21 women and three children. After the attack, homes were destroyed and the remaining inhabitants were forced to flee.
