Miroslav Vučković acquitted of charges of war crimes due to unjustifiable length of proceedings

Ten years after the first indictment was raised and after three retrials, Miroslav Vučković, a Serb, has been acquitted of all charges of war crimes committed against the Albanian population in the village of Gušavac/Gušac in Kosovo.


Belgrade presentation of the interim results of the list of killed, dead and missing Serbs, Roma, Bosniaks, Montenegrins and other non-Albanians in Kosovo

Approximately 100 victims’ family members attended a presentation held in the Belgrade City Hall on October 6th 2009 where the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) presented the results of the list of the killed, dead, and missing Serbs, Roma, Bosniaks, and other non-Albanians in Kosovo in the period from 1998 until 2000. Ombudsman Saša Janković, representatives of the Republic of Serbia Government Commission on Missing Persons, a representative of the Republic of Serbia Ministry of Defence and a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross also attended the presentation besides victims’ family members.


Belgrade District Court fails to establish Ilija Jurisić’s responsibility in the Tuzla Convoy Case beyond reasonable doubt

Belgrade — Belgrade District Court’s War Crimes Chamber, presided by Judge Vinka Nikićević-Beraha, sentenced the accused Ilija Jurisić to 12 years of imprisonment, for the criminal act of use of impermissible means of combat pursuant to Article 148 Para 2 in relation to paragraph 1 of the SFRY Criminal Code.
