Committee Against Torture: Serbia violated Convention Against Torture

The UN Committee Against Torture (”the Committee”) has considered the case of violence and racial abuse against a Roma man and as of May 8th 2009 has issued a decision finding Serbia to have been in violation of a number of provisions of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (‘CAT’).

HLC Presentation of the register of killed or missing persons in Suva Reka/Suharrekë

On April 18th, 2009, the Kosovo office of the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC Kosovo) held the first presentation of the 1998-1999 register of killed and missing persons in Kosovo in Suva reka/Suharrekë. The presentation of a tentative register of killed and missing persons from the Municipality of Suva Reka/Suharrekë was attended by more than 70 family members of the victims.

The register of killed and missing persons presented in Lipljan/Lipjan

On 11 July 2009, the Kosovo office of the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC Kosovo) presented data regarding killed and missing persons from the municipality of Lipljan between the 1998-1999 period. The presentation was held at Lipljan, and was attended by over 50 family members of the victims.
