BELGRADE — A Serbian court has rejected the demands of 25 families of kidnapped victims from Sjeverin for damages, according to the Humanitarian Law Center (FHP).
In 1992, during the war in neighboring Bosnia, soldiers of the Republic of Srpska military kidnapped, and later tortured and killed 16 Muslim civilians from Sjeverin, Serbia.

Fond za humanitarno pravo (FHP) je povodom odbijanja tužbe za naknadu štete porodicama otetih iz Sjeverina 7. aprila 2009. godine održao konferenciju za novinare, u Tanjugovom Međunarodnom press centru. Na konferenciji su govorili Sandra Orlović, zamenica izvršne direktorke Fonda za humanitarno pravo, Behudin Hodžić i Dževad Koldžić kao predstavnici porodica otetih, i Marko Karadžić, državni sekretar Ministarstva za ljudska prava republike Srbije.

On 2 April 2009 the First Municipal Court in Belgrade rendered a judgment by which it rejected the compensation lawsuit filed by the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) against the Republic of Serbia on behalf of 25 family members of the kidnapped residents of Sjeverin.
