Presentation of the list of the killed, dead and missing in the municipality of Ferizaj/Uroševac

On 23th February 2010 HLC Kosovo presented the results of the record of killed and missing in the area of municipality of Ferizaj/Uroševac. Supported by the Municipal Assembly of Ferizaj/Uroševac, the presentation was held in the hall of the Municipal Assembly, and the audience was first addressed by Agim Aliu, the president of municipal Assembly, who stressed the importance of having one document with all valid data’s about victims. On the presentation took part more than 40 family members of victims and representatives of local media.

After the presentation, families of the victims had the opportunity to verify the information about their loved ones contained in the database. In addition they gave HLC Kosovo 21 forms with additional information about the victims, as well as a small number of photographs and other documentation for the database.

Presentation of the list of killed and missing non-albanians in Podgorica

The public presentation of the interim results of the List of killed, dead and missing non-Albanians in Podgorica was held on April 1st, 2010. More than 70 victims’ family members and 10 media houses (Pink, BBC, Dan, Vijesti, etc) attended the presentation. The President of the Montenegro Government Commission on Missing Persons, Veselin Vukčević, opened the presentation. After the presentation, families inspected the accuracy and completeness of the information about their closest family members in the HLC database and gave eight documents and nine photos of victims to the HLC team.

Presentation of the list of the killed, dead and missing in the municipality Kaçanik/Kačanik

On 12th April 2010 HLC Kosovo presented the results of the record of killed and missing in the area of the municipality of Kaçanik/Kačanik between January 1st 1998 and June 14th 1999. The presentation, held at the Kaçanik/Kačanik municipal assembly, was attended by the media and over 40 family members of the killed and missing. Families gave HLC Kosovo 26 photographs of the victims. Also, family members of victims filed out 27 forms with exact personal data’s of victims. President of municipal Assembly, Mr. Xhabir Zharku, addressed to the families saying that family members of victims should cooperate more with HLC and other organizations which are trying to collect all facts about killings during the war.

After presentation families had the opportunity to check data’s about their family members who were killed or went missing on HLC’s data base. After the presentation, families of the victims had the opportunity to verify the information about their loved ones contained in the database. In addition they gave HLC Kosovo 120 forms with additional information about the victims, as well as a large number of photographs and other documentation for the database, altogether 80 photographs.

Presentation in Deqan/Dečani was attended by a large number of minicipal officers and local media.

Conference: Assessment of access to justice for minorities in Kosovo

On April 20th 2010 HLC Kosovo held a conference on its assessment of minorities’ access to justice in Kosovo, at which HLC Kosovo presented its report on access to justice. The conference was attended by 60 participants, mainly representatives of the district courts, municipal courts, municipal courts for violations, court liaison offices, representatives of EULEX, a ECLO, ICO’s, Ombudsperson, representatives of local and foreign NGOs. The conference was attended by several members of minority communities living in Kosovo.


Presentation of the record of killed and missing in Pristina/Pristhinë

On April 27th 2010 HLC Kosovo (HLC Kosovo) presented the interim results of the record of killed and missing Albanians in Pristina/Prishtina between January 1st 1998 and December 31st 2000. The presentation, held in the hall of the Municipality of Pristina/Pristhinë, was attended by over 130 family members of those killed, injured and missing in the Municipality of Pristina/Pristhinë.
