Students from Munich visited HLC

Art students, political science students, and students of history of Eastern and South-Eastern Europe of the Ludvig Maximus University from Munich and their professors visited the Humanitarian Law Centre on June 18, 2010.


Albin Kurti found guilty for organizing a protest in Priština in February 2007

A mixed Trial Chamber of the District Court in Priština, presided by the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) appointed Justice Ferdinando Boatier de Mongeot, handed down a sentence on June 14, 2010 sentencing Albin Kurti, leader of the Samopredeljenje/Vetëvendosje movement to nine (9) months in prison for a criminal act of being a member of a group obstructing a law enforcement officer, Article 318, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Provisional Criminal Code of Kosovo. The accused Albin Kurti was immediately released from detention due to the fact that he had spent eleven (11) months in prison and in house-arrest in the course of 2007 and at the beginning of 2008, which is more than the prison sentence determined by the Trial Chamber.


Presentation of the list of the killed, dead and missing in the municipality Deqan/Dečani

More than 170 family members of victims of the conflict in Kosovo in 1999 attended the presentation of data on the killed and missing in the municipality of Deqan/Dečani organized by the Humanitarian Law Center Kosovo (HLC Kosovo) on March 30th 2010.  Supported by the Municipal Assembly of Deqan/Dečani, the presentation was held in the hall of the Municipal Assembly, and the audience was first addressed by Rasim Selmanaj, Mayor of Deqan/Dečani, who thanked HLC Kosovo for organizing the meeting with the families of those killed and missing and wished success in the future work.

After the presentation, families of the victims had the opportunity to verify the information about their loved ones contained in the database. In addition they gave HLC Kosovo 120 forms with additional information about the victims, as well as a large number of photographs and other documentation for the database, altogether 80 photographs.

Presentation in Deqan/Dečani was attended by a large number of minicipal officers and local media.
