Documentation

HLC collects data on war crimes and human rights violations committed in the context of the Yugoslav wars. Today, the HLC archive represents the most extensive collection of documents, audio-video recordings, and photographs on this topic in the region, with approximately 185,000 documents and multimedia materials.

A part of the HLC archive is a complete collection of trial recordings from the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY)/International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) and evidence presented in proceedings before these courts.

The archive also preserves documentation from war crimes trials in Serbia and the region, documentation on human rights violations in Serbia during the 1990s, media records, and documentation related to claims for the restitution of tenancy rights by refugees and displaced persons.

An important part of the archive consists of statements from victims and witnesses of war crimes and the register of human losses, which HLC is creating in cooperation with partners from other post-Yugoslav states.
