Home » War crime trials in Serbia
The Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) has been monitoring and supporting war crimes trials since the first proceedings were conducted in the Republic of Serbia in 2002. The HLC represents victims (injured parties) through legal representatives, files criminal complaints with the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor, submits documentation on committed crimes, and identifies and encourages witnesses and victims to testify in these proceedings—thereby contributing to the establishment of justice for crimes of the past.
As the only organization that continuously monitors and analyzes war crimes trials in Serbia, the HLC regularly informs both domestic and international audiences about their progress. Proceedings before the Serbian judiciary can be followed through transcripts of main hearings and reports prepared by HLC monitors. A case summary, indictment, and judgments or other court decisions are available for each case.
