In the village of Ljutoglava, municipality of Peć, on May 8, 1999, during a refugee column leaving the village, Serbian forces opened fire on the Kelmendi family. Rinor (18 months), Qerim (91), Selime (72), Gani (51), and six other members of the extended family were killed. Serbian forces removed the bodies to an unknown location. In April 2006, the bodies of Qerim, Selime, and Gani were found in a mass grave in Batajnica. Rinor’s remains have not been found to this day.
