Ethnic Violence in Kosovo

The March violence began on the morning of March 17 with the gathering of Kosovo Albanians in the southern part of Mitrovica/Mitrovicë and soon spread to many other cities in Kosovo. Around 50,000–60,000 Kosovo Albanians took part in the violence, targeting Serbs, Roma, and Ashkali, their property, and religious sites. A total of 23 people were killed, including 1 Macedonian woman, 9 Serbs, and 13 Albanians.
