Professors from US Visit Humanitarian Law Center

Professors from several universities in the US, whose students attend the School for International Training (SIT) of the Center for Comparative Conflict Studies at the Faculty of Media and Communications, visited the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) on Tuesday, March 25th, 2014.

Marijana Toma, the Deputy Executive Director of the Humanitarian Law Center, presented the history and current work of the Humanitarian Law Center in the discussion she had with the professors. They also discussed the progress of the transitional justice process, the main obstacles in the process of dealing with the past, and the methods employed in the fight against the lack of empathy for the victims and denial of crimes, through research into human losses and the Initiative for RECOM. The professors from the US were particularly interested in the role of education and the position of the younger generations in the process of establishing reconciliation.
