SIT Students Visited HLC
Students on the School for International Training (SIT) programme which gathers students from various universities in the US visited the Humanitarian Law Center on Wednesday, February 27th, 2013.
Marijana Toma, the Deputy Executive Director of the Humanitarian Law Center, presented the history and current work of the Humanitarian Law Center to the students in a lecture. The students had an opportunity to hear about the current process of transitional justice in post-Yugoslav countries. The students showed particular interest in the issue of states not recognizing victims, which represents one of the major impediments to the process of dealing with the past, but also in the ways to fight the aforementioned lack of empathy through the Kosovo Memory Book and the Initiative for RECOM projects.
