Bosnia and Herzegovina at the time of the Breakup of the Former Yugoslavia

A collection of themed documents titled “Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Time of the Breakup of the Former Yugoslavia” was published by the Humanitarian Law Center and the Institute for Contemporary History.

This collection of documents is a testimony about the breakup of the former Yugoslavia and the war that engulfed Bosnia and Herzegovina soon after. The introduction provides a short analysis of the most significant political events in BiH from the time of first multi-party elections at the beginning of 1990 until the spring of 1992 when the war broke out.

The collection of themed documents prepared by Dr. Kosta Nikolić includes eight documents which were presented as evidence in the trial of Slobodan Milošević before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. The author explains that the book is not intended to judge anyone or pronounce definitive historical assessments and instead, it attempts to offer new findings and interpretations to scientists to help overcome myths and irrational understanding of the past which ultimately erases the line between the sphere of lies and the sphere of the truth.

The promotion of the book is scheduled for April 16, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., office of the Humanitarian Law Center, Dečanska 12, 3rd floor.
