HLC Executive Director presents RECOM Initiative to Banja Luka students

Banjaluka, BiH, March 27, 2010

On March 27th 2010, Nataša Kandić, Executive Director of the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) addressed students at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Banja Luka, BiH, upon an invitation by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Center for Student Democracy, and the Faculty of Philosophy. In a lecture prepared for this occasion, Ms. Kandić said that dealing with our past and our own crimes is a prerequisite for the democratization of society and in that context she talked about war crimes trials before national jurisdictions and the RECOM process.

HLC – Kosovo presents data on the missing and killed in Malishevë/Mališevo

On February 16th 2010 the Humanitarian Law Center – Kosovo (HLC-Kosovo) presented data on the killed and missing victims in the area of the municipality of Malishevë/Mališevo in the period 1998 and 1999. The Presentation, which was held in the hall of the Malishevë/Malishevë Municipal Assembly, was attended by over 90 family members of the killed and missing.

Conference held on European integration and transitional justice

Conference “European integration and transitional justice: perspectives and strategies for the establishment of restorative justice in the Western Balkans” was held on Tuesday December 1st in Brussels, organized by the Center for the Study of Global Governance (London School of Economic) and the Humanitarian Law Center.

Presentation of results of the record of killed, dead and missing Serbs, Roma, Bosniaks, Montenegrins and other non-Albanians in Kosovo

On the occasion of the International Day of the Disappeared, August 31st 2009, the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) presented the interim results of the record of killed and disappeared Serbs, Roma, Bosniaks and other non-Albanians in Kosovo in the period from January 1st 1998 to December 31st 2000 at the media Center in Belgrade.

Gathering on war crimes trials at Đulići

On July 8th 2009 the Association of families of prisoners and missing persons from Zvornik Municipality organised a gathering in the village of Đulići on war crime trials and investigations into war crimes committed against the civilians of Đulići and other Bosniak villages of the Municipality of Zvornik in 1992.
